So the 10th World of Warcraft expansion launched and I, as always, needed to setup my interface for my display, because the default fonts do not fit my own interface style. So what I always do first is changing the whole interface font.

Quick Steps:

First you have to navigate to your WoW installation path and either select the  _classic_ or _retail_ folder.

Then look out or create a ‘Font’ folder inside of it. There you can copy your .ttf font of your choice and create 3 copies of it. Rename each of then to the following files:

skurri.ttf
ARIALN.ttf
MORPHEUS.ttf
FRIZQT__.ttf

Explanation: World of Warcraft loads these 4 fonts for the different interface sections of your game. If you place them into your ‘Fonts’ folder, the game will load these instead and override the game preset.

This is totally legal and won't get you into any troubles.

My personal two modern and clean favourites are: Ubuntu and Oswald. They are sleek, clean and Oswald is pretty compact for a simpler UI. You can download them at Google Fonts for free:

Ubuntu Font: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Ubuntu (go for Regular)

Oswald Font: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Oswald
